Video shows brutal knockout by former MSU Spartan, current NFL player
(FOX 2) - Former Michigan State safety Montae Nicholson was arrested Tuesday after police said he drunkenly assaulted two people in Virginia. Now, TMZ has obtained video of the brutal attack.
Montae Nicholson, 23, was arrested with another woman after a fight in Virginia early Tuesday morning.
The two people who called deputies to the scene - a male and a female - told investigators they were attacked by another male and female, FOX 5 DC reports.
According to the victims, the male suspect and the female suspect drove up and honked their horn at them.
Then, according to the victims, the female suspect attacked the female victim with a beer bottle, while the male suspect attacked the male victim.
According to the sheriff's office, the suspects returned to the area while the investigators were talking to the victim.
TMZ obtained cell phone video of the brutal fight which shows Nicholson in a red hoodie going after another man while other try desperately to stop him.
The NFL safety is too strong and angry and throws several punches at the man, eventually a knockout punch.
You can see in the video the man goes limp as Nicholson connects with his face.
Deputies charged Nicholson, 23, of Ashburn, Va. and Sydney Maggiore, 24, of Vienna, Va. with assault and battery and being drunk in public.
Nicholson played three years at Michigan State and had 4 interceptions over his MSU career. He was drafted in the fourth round by Washington.
Maggiore was also charged with malicious wounding and assault and battery.
Nicholson was jailed in lieu of a $2,500 bond. Maggiore was denied bond.
The victims were taken to a local hospital. Deputies say their injuries are not life threatening.
