Walled Lake man accused of sexually assaulting daughter
NOVI, Mich. (WJBK) - A Walled Lake father has been charged with molestation of his daughter after police say he sexually assaulted her in the family's home.
The 40-year-old man was in front of a judge on Tuesday for the first time. According to police, Michael David sexually assaulted his 19-year-old daughter.
"While laying on the bed with her father, he began to kiss her neck, undo her bra, and take her shirt off. At which point, he had grabbed her breasts and sexually assaulted her in her vaginal region, your honor," Detective Anthony Noble testified.
According to Detective Noble, the teen ran from the house and told her boyfriend. Police were called and arrested David. He was arraigned Tuesday for three counts criminal sexual contact.
David is the father of five teens and lives in Walled Lake with his wife and kids. According to court records, he has no criminal history and has a nearly six-figure job with an IT firm.
A judge ordered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
"He does hold a concealed weapons permit. I'm asking the court to suspend that immediately. I'm asking that, due to the incident and the ongoing investigation, we request a cash bond," Noble said.
His bond was set at $25K cash. If he posts it, he would not be allowed to go back to his house with his four other kids and wife. Police are still investigating if there are any other sexual assaults in this case.
No one appeared in court with Mr. David. His next court appearance will be on February 17th.
If convicted it's a two year misdemeanor and he'd be put on the sexual registry.
