Warren police investigate shoot-out in McDonald's parking lot

At least 10 shells were recovered in the parking lot after an altercation escalated into gunfire.

A shoot-out took place in the parking lot of a McDonald's in Warren on Friday.

A white Chrysler 300 and a silver/gray sedan allegedly fired multiple shots at each other in the parking lot of McDonald’s on Van Dyke Avenue near Nine Mile Road, around 5 p.m.,  according to a release from the Warren Police Department.

Both vehicles fled the scene in different directions. No injuries have been reported.

"There are no known victims at this time with all persons involved having fled the scene prior to police arrival," police released. "As of this point, there is no apparent danger to the public."

Several 911 calls were made about several shots being fired in the parking lot. Police found over 10 shell casings once they arrived at the scene.

A mother told FOX 2 that one minute she was getting food and the next, she was fleeing for her, and family's lives.

"We were beyond too close for me, for how where their car was sitting and where my car was sitting in the drive-thru lane, like my kids could’ve easily been shot in the backseat," said Aliysha Pace.

Pace was shaken after she says gunshots erupted near her vehicle in the McDonald's parking lot on Van Dyke and Nine Mile.

Her 6-year-old and 2-year-old were in the car with her.

"We honestly thought it was fireworks. I turn back and I see a whole bunch of kids running," she said. "Other cars start driving off and the next thing you know there was more pop, more shooting."

No suspects are in custody at this time.

The scene has since been cleared, and an investigation is ongoing.

She says they were about to get food but they quickly got out of there.

"I wasn’t waiting, wasn’t stopping, wasn’t trying to look at nobody. didn’t want to see what was going on. i just made sure me and my kids were out of there."

Warren police say  that a shooting broke out between two groups at about 5 p.m.

One group was in a white Chrysler 300, the other silver/gray sedan.

Both groups fired shots at each other - and fled the scene in opposite directions.

A witness told FOX 2 that he saw a group running.

"I saw a kid running looking behind him. I glanced at him and I happened to notice he was holding his pants," said Michael Bevard. "I noticed a little barrel in the pant leg."

Bevard, a former police officer, says he believed it to be a gun - and, he told the police.

"Investigators will be reviewing CCTV video footage as well as speaking with any witnesses to gather more information into this incident," according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Warren Police Department at 586-574-4877.
