DETROIT (FOX 2) - The 2025 Detroit Auto Show is returning to its January roots, but there will be noticeable differences from the 2025 Detroit Auto Show versus previous years. The biggest of which will be the surprising reveals.
On Tuesday, less than a month before the auto show takes over Downtown Detroit, organizers unveiled plans for the January event.
Detroit Auto Show's interactive exhibits
With the cold temperatures lingering outside, the fun will take place inside Huntington Place.
Ford will once again construct the Ford Bronco Built Wild Track with two new obstacles – Rock Crawl and Tilt Ridge.
Jeep is also bringing the Camp Jeep experiential activation to give attendees a chance to hit the trail.
Plus – the new Detroit Grand Prix-themed track will be open as well.
What's missing at the 2025 Detroit Auto Show?
Vehicle unveiling will be kept secret as of Dec. 17. Prior to moving the auto show to the summer, automakers used the January event to show off the future vehicles. From future Mustangs to return of the Broncos and Blazers, and introduction of new cars, the auto show was where cars were seen for the first time in person.
Auto shows in 2025 are different from previous years as most vehicles are unveiled via social media or other channels. Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) co-executive director Sam Klemet told FOX 2 that even though unveiling will be kept limited or secretive, attendees can still get hands-on and up-close with vehicles.
Additional ultra-luxury and exotic brands will also be announced soon.
What carmakers will be at the Detroit Auto Show?
The auto show announced that 22 brands will be at the auto show to represent different vehicle segments – including indoor track activities. Among the 22 brands are some of the largest carmakers in the world:
- Alfa Romeo
- Buick
- Cadillac
- Chevrolet
- Chrysler
- Dodge
- Fiat
- Ford
- GMC
- Jeep
- Kia
- Lincoln
- Ram
- Toyota
- Volkswagen
Additionally, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, INEOS, Mazda and Mercedes-Benz will also have vehicle displays provided by dealers.
"Through this blended automaker and dealer participation, we’re able to give attendees a totally immersive experience in some of the most exciting products available on the market today -- whether that’s comparing a variety of propulsion systems on one of four tracks, to seeing hundreds of brand-defining vehicles, up-close-and-personal and all in one place," Detroit Auto Show Chairman Karl Zimmermann said.
The Gallery will also return with a showcase of ultra-luxury and exotic vehicles from Metro Detroit dealerships and owner collections.
