Woman arguing in car accused of hit and run in Oak Park

A man was hit and killed by a vehicle Friday night while walking in Oak Park.

Police say the man was walking on the sidewalk on Scotia Road, north of 9 Mile Road, when he was hit by a vehicle that jumped the curb.

The vehicle, had two women inside and was left with a flat tire from the impact. At that point the vehicle attempted to flee the scene. 

Witnesses were able to give police enough details and vehicle descriptions to where the suspects vehicle was located.  

A short time later they were taken into custody. Police believe the two women were arguing in the vehicle when the driver lost control and drove off the road. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

It is unclear if alcohol and or drugs were a factor in the accident.
