DETROIT - A deadly car crash early Friday morning on Livernois in Detroit.
The female driver crashed her Mercedes which burst into flames into a light pole at Livernois and Grand around 5 a.m. Friday.
The car, skids to a stop 70 feet away, then burst into flames.
By the time firefighters arrived, it was too late. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"It was really heartbreaking, when I saw the fire," said witness Edward Poe. "And my mom and I were like, someone was in the car."
Burn marks and car debris are all that remains after the crash. Police who responded to the scene called it so horrific that they are now having trouble identifying the woman's body.
As police work to confirm the identity through DNA, a small memorial has started at the scene.
There are no details as to what caused the crash yet.
