Woman killed in boating accident on Lake St. Clair

The Macomb County Sheriff's office say a woman died Friday night after the boat she was in collided with another on Lake St. Clair. 

According to the police report, witnesses who viewed the accident reported a 27-foot Sea Ray boat that was drifting in Anchor Bay about 1 mile north of MacRay Harbor.

The second boat which was being operated crashed into the drifting vessel. Michael UIrick, of Chesterfield Township, was piloting the boat, coming back from a dinner function with his wife Tamara. 

According to Sheriff Anthony Wickersham, due to the collision, Michael, Tamara were thrown overboard. None of those who were in the stationary boat were seriously injured. 

Once the Macomb County Sheriff's Department dive team was on-scene, everyone was successfully located except for Tamara, 43. 

Tamara Ulrick's body was found according to the Sheriff, around 1 a.m. by the United States Coast Guard and Sheriff's office. 

Michael Ulrick remains in the hospital in serious condition. 

The accident is under investigation.
