Remembering The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin

Aretha Franklin died in August from pancreatic cancer. The celebration of her life lasted an entire week and the museum currently has a temporary exhibit on display paying tribute to the Detroit legend. They commissioned Kelly to create a one-of-a-kind painting for their permanent collection.

"It's just a very fun unique piece to look at - each time you look at it you probably spot something different," she said.

Kelly has been busy. Her murals can be seen in in Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan's office. She has murals in Eastern market, Royal Oak Beaumont - her work is everywhere.
