Lions Dan Campbell not concerned with cold weather games

Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell says his team is ready to get back on the road and he's not that worried about playing in the cold.

Ahead of Sunday's clash with the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell isn't too worried about his team playing in the cold.

The Lions have played three straight home games and six straight dome games – but that all changes this Sunday as the Lions head to Chicago where temperatures will be in the 30s at kickoff at 1 p.m.

But Campbell's not worried about any of that.

"Yeah, I mean, I think it's good for us just to get back on the road. You know, it's been good to be home, but, you know, let's go. Let's get out. And it's just us out there," Campbell said.

The Lions haven't been spending time indoors; Campbell said they've been practicing outside to get ready for Sunday's matchup.

"We've been outside the last two days. We'll go out again today and, you know, those guys are pretty, pretty energized. You know, it brings a different level of juice to those guys outside. You know, the big (guys) love it. And we got a lot of skill (players) out there that are running around and enjoy it too. I think that it fits us very well, you know, and I think it'll be good for us out there," Campbell said.

The Lions will be reliant on the legs of Jahmyr Gibbs after David Montgomery went down with a knee injury. He's expected to miss the rest of the reason and was believed to miss the postseason as well, but Ian Rapaport reported that a third opinion is showing that the star may have avoided a season-ending surgery.

Campbell wouldn't confirm either way but said he's optimistic.

"I guess whatever has been put out there is what it is," Campbell said. "I think we, we may, see where this thing goes. We still got a decision to make. Because even if that is the case,, you know, it's a matter of - do you put him out on IR, do you see how fast he can come back from it. All that, but it certainly sounds more optimistic. It's probably the best way to say it," Campbell said.

The Lions and Bears square off this Sunday at 1 p.m. and you can watch every snap LIVE on FOX 2.
