Detroit Lions fans celebrate NFC North Championship win

Detroit Lions fans are buzzing Monday morning after the team defeated the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football, clinching the No. 1 seed and winning the NFC North Championship.

Who will the Detroit Lions play in the playoffs?

Amid a season that brought so many questions about how the team would respond after last year's heartbreaking end, fans may be surprised by the query in front of them.

After conquering the Minnesota Vikings in the last game of the regular season, the franchise is in uncharted waters. Here are some of the biggest questions now before the Lions.

Who do the Lions play in the playoffs?

The short answer is: we don't know.

Owning the best record in the NFC means scoring a bye in the first round of the playoffs. While their division rivals and former quarterback over in Los Angeles will need to push through the Wild Card Round, Detroit won't play until the divisional round.

Based on NFL playoff bracket rules, the top seed always plays the lowest seed.

If the home teams win next week, then Detroit would end playing Matthew Stafford and the Rams, since they are the lowest seeded team to still own home field advantage.

'Man, what a great job': Dan Campbell praises Detroit Lions after NFC North Championship win

Following the Detroit Lions' second NFC North Championship win in a row, head coach Dan Campbell praised how his team handled a good team, the Minnesota Vikings. Detroit clinched the No. 1 seed with the Sunday Night Football win.

When will the Lions play next?

Divisional round games will kick off either on Saturday, Jan. 18 or Sunday, Jan. 19.

How much do Lions' tickets cost?

As the Lions have surged, so have the ticket prices.

The playoffs promise even higher costs for admission, with StubHub showing the cheapest tickets over $600.

What about Detroit's injuries?

Detroit's regular-season finale was somewhat of a return to normalcy in the sense that more starters were on the field.

Most notably was Alex Anzalone, returning from a broken arm earlier this season. The middle linebacker's impact was immediate, filling a gap in coverage that had led to the defense getting gashed during the previous two games.

Kalif Raymond also returned.

Terrion Arnold, the rookie cornerback hurt his foot during the game, and was later ruled out. During his press conference, coach Dan Campbell said x-rays had come back negative, but said "he's pretty tender."

Arnold later added to the optimism by promising to play in the playoffs, according to the Detroit Free Press.

David Montgomery was seen on the sidelines during the Vikings game, but still nursing an MCL injury, he was there only as support. But in interviews during the game, he hinted at a return to form in the post-season.

And then, there's Aidan Hutchinson, the star defensive end who has promised a return to the field during the Super Bowl.

Despite breaking his leg earlier this year, he's been rehabbing every week, even posting updates on his Instagram

Super Bowl Favorites?

Finishing off a brilliant 15-2 season comes with high expectations and Detroit enters the playoff picture at the top.
