Tigers fall to Guardians 7-0 in game one of ALDS

The Cleveland Guardians made quick work of the Detroit Tigers in the first game of the divisional playoff series. 

The Guardians won 7-0, storming to an early lead in the first inning. They never lost momentum after that. 

Guardians build lead in the 6th

David Fry doubled to the left, earning two more runs for Cleveland and helping them pad their lead to 7-0 in the sixth inning. 

Two more scoreless innings

Pitcher Reese Olson continues to keep the Guardians from scoring more runs, while Cleveland pulled Tanner Bibbee who pitched into the fifth inning.

Cade Smith replaced him, making quick work of the Tigers batters in the sixth inning. 

Tigers settle down

The second and third innings included some action, but no scoring from either side. 

Pitcher Reese Olson settled things down after his first pitch was blasted out of the park. 

Cleveland rockets to early lead

The Guardians didn't wait to jump to a huge 5-0 lead thanks to an error from the Tigers and a three-run home run, all before the first out. 

This after the top of the inning when the Tigers put two batters on base, one a single and another from a walk in the top of the first inning.

A fly out from Colt Keith ended Detroit's first at-bat.

Tyler Holton will kickoff pitching for the Tigers on Saturday. Over the season, he earned a 2.19 ERA and struck out 77 batters.
