Georgia dominates Michigan in Orange Bowl, wins 34-11

MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA - DECEMBER 31: Cade McNamara #12 of the Michigan Wolverines is tackled in the second quarter of the game against the Georgia Bulldogs in the Capital One Orange Bowl for the College Football Playoff semifinal game at Hard Rock S

Georgia has dominated the Orange Bowl College Football Semifinal against Michigan from the opening snap.

between No. 2 Michigan (12-1, Big Ten) vs. No. 3 Georgia (12-1, SEC) started at 7:40 p.m. Friday and it's been all Georgia since the opening snap.

Georgia raced out to a 14-0 lead until Michigan answered with 3, only for Georgia to come right back with 3 of their own to go back to a 14-0 lead.

Michigan struggled on both sides of the ball the entire first half with barely 130 yards of total offense while Georgia racked up 332 yards and led 27-3 at half.

The Wolverines opened the second half with the ball and were in the red zone when Cade McNamara threw a pass that receiver Daylen Baldwin appeared to lose in the air and was easily picked off.

The good news for Michigan was that they kept Georgia off the scoreboard for the 3rd quarter - but they also didn't score.

Georgia was able to add another touchdown with more than 11 minutes left in the 4th quarter as Stetson Bennett connected with James Cook for a 39-yard touchdown pass to put Georgia up 34-3.

It took all the way until 4:25 left in the game for Michigan to find the end zone. It came on a 35-yard pass from J.J. McCarthy to Andrel Anthony. Michigan went for 2 and got it on a reverse to bring the score to 34-11.

Georgia's running game was able to wind the clock down, bringing the game to a merciful end as the Bulldogs win 34-11 to advance to the College Football Final on Jan. 10 in Indianapolis.
