The Detroit Tigers have traded outfielder Yoenis Cespedes to the New York Mets for prospects.

The move was announced just before the trade deadline, 4 p.m. eastern time. FOX 2's Jennifer Hammond learned from a Tigers insider that the team received two right-handed pitchers.

According to the source, the two minor league pitchers are Michael Fulmer and Luis Cessa.

Cespedes is batting .289 with 18 home runs and 61 RBIs.

Cespedes, 29, had been acquired from Boston in the Rick Porcello deal.

The move comes one day after David Price was sent to the Toronto Blue Jays and Yoakim Soria was shipped to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Three left-handed pitching prospects came in the Price deal, headlined by top-20 prospect Daniel Norris. JaCoby Jones, a shortstop/outfielder came in the Soria trade.
