Q-Country 107 in Port Huron kicked off this year's Community Roofsit fundraiser to raise money for the Child Abuse and Neglect Council, a nonprofit organization that works to prevent child abuse in St. Clair County.

Tens of thousands of dollars has been raised for a Detroit family after a stranger's chance encounter with a teen son outside a grocery store.

"I feel great and he's doing great and it's just a neat story he'll be able to tell," said Julie Dunn.

On Monday, Lotts, who was walking into Royal Fresh Market on Grand River, stopped in his tracks by what he overheard from a young man who was standing outside.

"His comment to me was 'I'm not going to worry, God will take care of me and I told my relatives I can go to sleep with peace,'" said his daughter April Hill.

Their performances soon became an incentive for people to donate to an organization that is near and dear to their hearts - West Bloomfield's Friendship Circle, which serves children with special needs, like little Ella. It is also where Benji and his wife met while volunteering.

Grace began to grow as a musician, playing locally at bars and restaurants -while traveling back and forth to Nashville - writing songs and recording music.

A Michigan woman is inspiring others as her life has come full circle. She now has a top job with the very organization that helped save her life nearly 30 years ago, Lighthouse.
