Northville Twp. police holding drive to collect donations for people effected by Hurricane Helene

As Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton continue to devastate the southeastern United States, the Northville Township Police Department is stepping up to help. Led by dispatcher Connie Burnett, the department has organized a donation drive for hurricane victims in North Carolina. This isn't Burnett's first relief effort; she previously helped distribute supplies after tornadoes in Kentucky. The department is asking for donations of new items like heavy-duty work gloves, socks, tarps, and cleaning wipes by October 15. Collection boxes are available at Township Hall, the police department, and the fire department. All donations will be sent to the American Legion Devereaux Post 141 in Howell, which is coordinating a convoy to deliver the items to Asheville, NC. Police also warn residents to be cautious of donation scams and encourage people to support verified organizations.
