E-bikes are coming to Michigan State Parks

On Thursday, the Department of Natural Resources will present a new land use order to the Natural Resources Commission that expands where someone could ride an e-bike. Under the proposed rule, certain classes of electric bikes would be permitted on trails where only non-motorized bikes are currently allowed.

Royal Oak apartment approved despite some pushback

A new development that would bring an apartment building to the site of an abandoned bank in Royal Oak was approved by the city commission on Tuesday. The approval comes after some residents in the area picketed against the apartment over the weekend.
