The incident happened at a gas station where the suspect shooter got into an argument with the cashier over a small refund, the Detroit police chief said over the weekend.

A 40-year-old man has been charged with homicide charges after police said he drove drunk the wrong way 696, killing another driver last week.

"This is unbearable for any mother, any family to go through this," said Maxine Willis, the victim's mother. "Still so unreal to think that his life was snatched out of a wrong-way driver."

On Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 8:40 p.m. the 44-year-old victim exited a liquor store located in the 16300 block of W. Seven Mile Road when two armed suspects robbed him.
