Ann Arbor teacher and family lose everything in apartment fire

On Saturday at around 5:45 a.m., a fire began engulfing one of the buildings at the Arbor Landings Apartment complex. Fortunately, no one was reported injured. The flames were shooting from the roof of the complex before one neighbor, Brian Garred, who lived just feet away, awoke to someone banging on his door.

Food dispute leads to gunshots at Southfield gas station

It started last Tuesday inside a gas station and chicken spot in Southfield off Greenfield near 10 Mile. The customer was in all black and wore a yellow hat. Thirty-nine-year-old Allen Blair apparently felt slighted by staff while ordering chicken; that's actually what this is all over, a chicken. Police say that was when he became angry and a fight ensued.
