The DEI cut marks a significant shift for the school, given its longstanding commitment to and advocacy of progressive values. It's unclear how many jobs and people will be affected overall. FOX 2 reached out to the provost’s office for more information, but a media relations staff member directed us back to the statement on their website, telling us that’s all they’re releasing at this time. On campus, reactions are mixed, with some students saying they’ve been anticipating this decision and others fearing what’s next.

Berkley man accused of sex crimes against teens facing new charge

Bradford was originally charged last month with third-degree criminal sexual conduct in Berkley for allegedly having sexual contact with minors and providing them with alcohol and drugs. Shortly after being arrested for those crimes, he was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct out of Grosse Pointe Park for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in his vehicle.

Southfield police warn businesses of alleged jewelry fraudster

A 47-year-old man named Carl Mack is accused of ripping off Metro Detroit jewelers like Seta Bederian at Infinity Jewelers in Southfield and another store in Royal Oak. She says Mack scammed her out of around $40,000. He hit her store a few times—the first time he was buying a bracelet.
