Gesher Human Services "Women to Work" program success story
Niecy Mohammed, 66, from Detroit, had been retired for about three years because of the pandemic – she had been working at a nonprofit for 26 years but the facility, which helped underserved young adults get mentored and attend school, had to close during COVID-19. Niecy wanted to get back into the workforce but didn’t feel she had the tools to apply, then in January 2024 she was watching Fox 2 one morning which had a story about Women to Work and she jumped at the opportunity to join the program.
