Houses Before Spouses: Why More Single Women Are Buying Homes

Single women continue to outpace men as homebuyers and have done so every year since 1981. According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), single women made up 19 percent of all homebuyers in 2023, while single men made up 10 percent. The percentage of solo women buying homes was up 2% from 2022.
