From now until February 28th at Galerie Camille, come and view this dynamic group exhibition honoring the legacy of Detroit’s Black artistic community. Galerie Camille is located at 4130 Cass Ave, Ste C, Detroit, MI, and the gallery hours are 12pm - 5pm, Wed - Sat. This exhibit features a dynamic mix of emerging and mid-career artists from the city, each contributing their unique perspectives to the narrative. Featured artists include Joe Cazeno III, Ijania Cortez, Darian ‘Saint’ Greer, Breianna Jackson, Tylear Jefferson, Jonathan Kimble, James Charles Morris, Brian Nickson, Joshua Rainer, Phillip Simpson, Miriam Uhura, Oshun Williams and Jacob Zelecki. The work showcased pays tribute to the groundbreaking figures and pivotal moments that have helped shape Detroit’s Black artistic community. Presented through various mediums—such as painting, digital art, and mixed media—this exhibition aims to capture the essence of the community, highlighting its history and aspirations. By dedicating time and recognition to this vital legacy, Living Frequency seeks to cultivate a deeper understanding of the influences that have shaped these artists' work while sparking a dialogue about the ongoing evolution of Detroit's cultural landscape. Visitors can look forward to an engaging and thought-provoking experience that honors the past while embracing a future filled with creative promise. Living Frequency is curated by multidisciplinary artist James Charles Morris in collaboration with Marta Carvajal, Galerie Camille’s Director.
