Metro Detroit weather: Snow continues to fly during morning commute - how much to expect

Snow continues through the morning
Snow continues to fall Friday morning. Though it's not major snow, it's still enough to create issues on the roads at times. Alan Longstreet has what to expect.
DETROIT (FOX 2) - Some flakes will fly today, mainly during the morning commute, with the snow totals depending on where you are.

Snow totals will range from a dusting to 2", with the highest amounts north of I-69.

Lake-effect snow could add more for Port Huron and areas along the Lake Huron shoreline, where 3"+ are possible. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. for those areas.

Behind today’s system, a blast of cold air settles in, dropping weekend highs into the 20s.

The cold eases next week, with temps climbing close to 40° by Christmas. Another system arrives late Monday into Monday night, bringing a mix of rain and snow. Minor accumulation is possible.
