(WJBK) - We got a break from the frigid temperatures the past few days -- but winter is returning.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for some parts of southeast Michigan on Monday. The National Weather Service initially issued a Winter Storm Advisory for the day, but upgraded it in some counties to a Winter Storm Warning just before 9:30 a.m.
Some schools are closing early Monday, or canceling PM activities. You can get the full list of school closures here.
The warning is in effect in Sanilac, St. Clair, Oakland and Macomb counties until 7 p.m. Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne counties are still under the advisory until 7 p.m.
The FOX 2 Weather Authority team says to expect about 2-3 inches of snowfall throughout the day. Some will see less than that, but some spots may see closer to 4 inches as well.

Highest amounts of snow will be seen in the eastern cities of Metro Detroit, stretching up to Port Huron. Lower snow totals will be seen in the southwestern cities.
Coverage of the snowfall will increase throughout the morning, and should blanket all of the southeast area by 10 a.m. The snow will linger into the afternoon, and showers could linger for those eastern cities into the evening.
Plan for slippery road conditions on your drive in and home from work.
Temperatures will peak for the week on Wednesday, reaching in the high 30s. Another shot of cold air will close out the week, with weekend temperatures in the mid 20s.
