DTE Energy and THAW partner to raise and distribute $1M for Michigan Families
(WJBK) -- DTE Energy and The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) are teaming up once again this year to host the annual Week or Warmth.
The Week of Warmth kicked off on Tuesday and lasts through Friday, Nov. 13. It features a series of events focused on raising awareness and funds for our state's most vulnerable citizens.
The 2015 Week of Warmth includes:
Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Day
Saturday, Nov. 7, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Little Rock Baptist Church - 9000 Woodward Ave., Detroit
Residents in a north end Detroit neighborhood will receive free Home Energy Consultations, including the installation of energy- and water-saving products and also smoke detectors. Some customers will qualify to receive an ENERGY STAR® refrigerator and possibly a furnace test and tune-up. More than 100 volunteers, including DTE Energy and THAW employees, will distribute energy-efficiency materials to approximately 125 homes. DTE and THAW leaders will be available for media interviews.

A night of celebration and local musical entertainment to recognize energy assistance advocates who continue to support THAW. For ticket information, call 248.737.4444.

THAW's Night of Warm Hearts fundraiser
Friday, Nov. 13, 6 - 11 p.m.
Motor City Casino Hotel, Soundboard - 2901 Grand River, Detroit
Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at www.weekofwarmth.org or www.thawfund.org.
Includes a VIP dinner, entertainment, live and silent auctions, and a 1980s themed gala in tribute to 1985, the year THAW was founded. Purchase tickets online or by calling 313-963-2681.
