Matrix to host 23rd annual ArtWorks event in Detroit

(WJBK) - Urban artist Kyle “Rise” Irving one of many artist whose art will be put up for auction during the annual Artworks event.  

Matrix will be hosting the 23rd Annual ArtWorks where more than 100 recognizable Detroit and national artist have contributed their works to the event, all to help Matrix educate children, support families and rebuild neighborhoods. 

“We’re very excited about this event, and we’ve made some great upgrades. First what we like to do, the art community has really come together to support this event so we’ll have various different mediums for people to choose from like sculptures, and mosaics, to acrylics and oils. We also have different price points for people to select in this auction that range from $50 to $5000,” Kerrie Mitchell said. 

Kerrie Mitchell with the Matrix Human Services will also partner with Wasserman Projects a gallery within the Eastern Market, while artpack installation will install all of the art. Mitchell says this will give the event a more sophisticated look. 

The ArtWorks event is on Thursday Sept 13th   6:30 pm to 9:30 pm to purchase a ticket visit their website.
