Party, special screening in Detroit to celebrate 8 MILE's 15th anniversary

(WJBK) - This week, Detroiters will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the 8 MILE movie with a special screening and a big party.

Miz Korona is a born and raised Detroiter with a no-holds-barred approach to emceeing. She's earned respect as a lyricist since first freestyling on the school bus and since then has gone on to smashing stages around the world.

Tonight there will be a special anniversary screening at 7 p.m. at Bel-Air Luxury Cinema, 10100 W. 8 Mile Rd. in Detroit. Tickets are $8.

There will be an official house party hosted in honor of the anniversary hosted by Bushman, who guest starred in the movie, on Thursday at Saint Andrews Hall, 431 E. Congress St. in Detroit. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $50 for the Tito's VIP Lounge package. Click here to purchase.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Verses Project. a branch of the Community Music School (CMS) in Detroit which is a program that works together with the Michigan State University School of Music as an innovative approach to engaging urban youth of the 21st century.
