Family finds dog waiting for them at burned home

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (KTVU) - Beckyjean Widen's parents were asleep when flames started to surround their Santa Rosa home. 

As they tried to escape, their beloved family dog ran away from them. Widen says, "my mom couldn't chase after her without risking her own life".

The family lost everything, but did not want to give up on finding Izzy.

Beckyjean's brother and husband hiked three miles to the property.

And just when the thought she was gone... Izzy ran up to them calling her name.
