'Go play with your terrorist friends': Facebook page impersonating Pete Lucido posts offensive comments

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (FOX 2) - Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido responded Wednesday after a Facebook page impersonating him posted offensive comments on his real page, leading to confusion that the prosecutor was insulting people.
On one post, the page responded to a comment saying the person sounded like "another whiny liberal." The comment went on to tell the person to "go play with your terrorist friends at another Black Lives Matter rally."
The fake page also commented on a post about a crime in Macomb County, saying, "Spread this story so everyone knows what happens when you let Detroit spill over into OUR neighborhoods."
The page had the same name as Lucido's real page, "Macomb County Prosecutor," and a photo of the prosecutor. However, it's a fake page, Lucido said. He responded in a statement, calling the comments "outrageous and offensive."
Lucido condemned the comments, and said his office was working with Facebook to address the fake page. As of Wednesday afternoon, the page appears to be gone.
Pete Lucido's full statement:
"Last night, I learned that my personal Facebook page was cloned by someone impersonating me to post outrageous and offensive comments. Let me be clear: these comments are not mine, nor are they from my office, and I strongly condemn them. This fraudulent activity has been reported to Facebook, and we are working with the platform to resolve it. I appreciate the community’s patience as we address this.
"This incident does not diminish the critical work our office carries out every day. Beyond holding criminals accountable, our team has achieved significant milestones: streamlining warrant processing, modernizing case management and digital evidence systems, securing vital grant funding, ensuring fairness in child support enforcement, reforming hiring practices, and greatly enhancing services for crime victims, repeatedly earning national recognition as a model of good governance."
