Metro Detroit restaurant closures: These eateries are closing as the year winds down

As the year winds down, some restaurants in Metro Detroit are also winding down operations as they prepare to close.

Here are a few places that are closing up shop or have recently shut their doors as 2025 nears:

Nick's Grecian House in Royal Oak

This Greek restaurant, praised by diners for both its breakfast options and Greek salad, is preparing to close early in the new year.

The eatery shared the news in a Christmas Eve Facebook post where the owners thanked the city of Royal Oak, including the mayor, police department, community, and others for supporting the business over the years.

Grecian House's last day will be Jan. 5, 2025.

Mongers' Provisions in Detroit

This eatery known for its charcuterie boards is shutting down its Detroit location.

The location opened in 2018 and will shutter on New Year's Eve. This closure does not include the Berkley location.

The good news, according to Mongers', is that the space is set to be occupied by another business that will serve chocolate, cheese, and more.

House of Pure Vin in Detroit

This wine bar known for culinary and wine experiences is closing after nine years in Detroit.

House of Pure Vin began what it called a soft closing earlier this month before wrapping up for good.

Its last day will be Friday, Dec. 27.

The Emory in Ferndale

After nearly two decades in Ferndale, The Emory is closing. For 17 years, the restaurant has been serving drinks and food near Woodward and Nine Mile.

Earlier this month, the business shared that it would be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in December before shuttering for good. That means this weekend is the last chance to dine at The Emory.

Arctic Circle Brewing Co. in Chesterfield

Unfortunately, there's no time left to grab a beer from Arctic Circle; the Chesterfield brewery closed just before Christmas.

News of the closure was shared in early November, with the business citing financial struggles and a drop in patronage as reasons for closing.

Arctic Circle started as a venture between high school friends, with the beers being brewed in one of their homes before the physical brewery opened in 2021.

Brady's Tavern in Beverly Hills

Like Arctic Circle, Brady's Tavern decided to end service right before Christmas.

The Beverly Hills bar on Southfield Road has closed after more than three decades.

Brady's last full day was Dec. 23, but the business did open briefly on Christmas Eve to give customers one last chance to enjoy food and drinks.
