Police seek driver after car ripped in half in Roseville accident
ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WJBK) - Police are looking for a driver involved in what appears to be a hit-and-run accident near Interstate 94 Sunday night.
Police in Roseville say a car was ripped in half during the accident on Little Mack Avenue. A woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but she is expected to recover.
Police say the 55-year-old woman was going north on Little Mack Avenue, attempting to enter the ramp for westbound I-94, when she was hit by the driver of a 2007 Blue Audi A3. The Audi was traveling southbound on Little Mack Avenue.
Police say the driver of the Audi, along with an unknown number of passengers, got out of the car and ran away from the accident. Police are still looking for the driver.
Police say the Audi is registered in St. Clair Shores, and that the vehicle was not reported as stolen. It does not appear, though, that the registered owner of the Audi was in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
The impact of the crash severed the Ford Taurus in half in the backseat area. Authorities are still working to learn what caused the accident.
If you know anything about the accident, you're asked to call Roseville Police Detective Bender at 586 447-4506.
