Postal carrier robbed at gunpoint in Northville Township

Northville police are investigating the armed robbery of a postal carrier Tuesday afternoon after two suspects wearing ski masks demanded the employee's keys to mailboxes.

Both suspects were in all-black clothing when they forcibly demanded the carrier's keys before fleeing the area. They were later arrested after the vehicle they were riding in was identified by Livonia Police officers.

The original robbery happened around 12:45 p.m. in the area of Silver Spring Drive and Eight Mile Road. A release from Northville police said the incident unfolded in broad daylight.

When the suspects fled, they left in a newer model mid-sized Hyundai SUV. The suspect information was disseminated to area law enforcement. Livonia police managed to stop the suspect vehicle on I-96 near Middlebelt Road.
