Redford Twp middle school student assaulted during attempted abduction, police say
REDFORD TWP, Mich. (WJBK) - Police in Redford Township are investigating after a 13-year-old boy said he was assaulted and almost abducted Thursday morning while walking to school.
The boy said he was walking on Kinloch just south of the intersection with Grove near Beech Daly and 6 Mile road. He said a blue car pulled up and a man in the car asked him if he wanted a ride.
The student said no but the suspect got out of the car and grabbed him by the wrist, police say. The boy was able to pull away from the suspect and run to school where he reported the incident.
The man is described as white, in his 40's, 6'1" tall, with medium build and gray beard. He was wearing a black hoodie and black hat and was driving a blue 4-door car.
Anyone with information is asked to call 313-387-2555 and refer to case #17-07002. Police are also hoping someone in the nearby neighborhoods has home security video of the car.
