Three women killed in crash on Telegraph in Redford

Authorities are investigating after a deadly accident overnight on Telegraph in Redford.

Police say three women were killed in the single-car crash. We're told it appears the driver was speeding, lost control, went airborne and slammed into a utility pole.

Police have not yet given the names of the victims as family members are still being identified.

Telegraph at W Chicago in Redford was closed for several hours while investigators were at the scene after the accident happened around 2:10 a.m. Telegraph reopened just before 9:30 a.m.

We're told two of the three victims were ejected from the car. Witnesses and investigators say the driver may have been going at least 100 mph.

"I've been working fatal accidents for 11 years; this is one of the worst I've seen," said Sgt. Duane Gregg from the Redford Police Department. "Any witnesses around 2 o clock this morning that may have observed a gray Kia Optima traveling south of Telegraph Road anywhere between I-96 and Plymouth, please contact us."
