Woman found murdered inside of closet, suspect on loose

According to the report, deputies responded to the 100 block of Ridgemont Drive in Pontiac for a possible homicide after the victim's mother found her daughter's body stuffed inside a closet in her apartment.

Deputies located the victim in a closet, with obvious signs of trauma. The woman, identified as 30-year-old Marie Elizabeth Colburn, was pronounced dead at McLaren Hospital.

The mother said she had not heard from her daughter since Tuesday and that she went to her daughter's apartment to check on her. Unable to find her during their first visit, the victim's parents left only to return an hour later to check again. The mother conducted a more thorough search of the apartment, and  located her daughter in a closet.

Attached to the front door of the apartment was a notice from the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) who had attempted to make contact with the victim's boyfriend. He is described as 33-year-old Pontiac resident Kevin Wiley.

MDOC was contacted by OCSO detectives who advised that the victim's boyfriend had cut off his GPS tether somewhere in the City of Detroit. The boyfriend is on parole for manslaughter on a conviction from Wayne County. The victim's car was missing from the home and found in Detroit.

Police are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police immediately.
