Jaylin Brazier urged girlfriend not to testify at trial

After Jaylin Brazier was arrested for the murder of Zion Foster in the summer of 2023, he made multiple phone calls. Many of which included him trying to avoid detection in the Wayne County Jail -- and also Brazier urging his girlfriend not to testify at his trial.

Niecy Mohammed, 66, from Detroit, had been retired for about three years because of the pandemic – she had been working at a nonprofit for 26 years but the facility, which helped underserved young adults get mentored and attend school, had to close during COVID-19. Niecy wanted to get back into the workforce but didn’t feel she had the tools to apply, then in January 2024 she was watching Fox 2 one morning which had a story about Women to Work and she jumped at the opportunity to join the program.
