Female inmate brought to court without pants, judge outraged
(WJBK) - A Louisville judge was outraged when a female inmate was brought to court on Friday without pants.
Jefferson District Court Judge Amber Wolf was in disbelief after the inmate told her she spent three days in jail without a change of clothes.
The inmate said she was denied pants and feminine hygiene products.
Wolf stopped court proceedings to call a correction services director to demand answers.
"This is outrageous," she can be heard saying in the video. "This can't happen. She was brought in ... and I don't know what happened to her pants but she says she has requested pants and they have been denied to her for three days while she's been here. She is not dressed from the waist down in my courtroom."
Wolf also criticized the county for sentencing the woman to 75 days in jail for a first-time shoplifting offense.
She apologized to the inmate for how she had been treated, and she was released with time served and a $100 fine.
