Report of armed man sighting causes lockdown at Macomb College
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - WEB UPDATE: (9:20) The lockdown has been lifted after a search for the person was not located.
A report of a sighting of an armed man has caused a lockdown at Macomb County Community College Center Campus Tuesday.
An alert from the school said that a man has been reported carrying an automatic weapon near the wooded area at Center Campus, and those in the area need to "seek shelter immediately."
The incident happened at 6 p.m. The school wants any students not at the campus to avoid the area.
About six police cars are at the location as well as a SWAT team, which is also at the scene. There have been no shots fired but investigators are looking for the man.
