Security guidelines this season at Comerica Park

DETROIT (FOX 2) - If you're heading to the Tigers' home opener, or any other games at Comerica Park this season, the Tigers have released some security guidelines to help make your entry as smooth as possible. 

First, it's important to know the team switched to a mobile-only ticketing system this year. 

That means you'll get into the park by showing your tickets on the Major League Baseball Ballpark App, or on the StubHub App. The ticket agent will then scan the barcode from your phone to let you in. All PDF tickets, either printed or screenshotted on your phone, will no longer be accepted as a method of entry.

If you don't have access to a smartphone, call the Comerica Park Box Office at 313-471-2200 in advance or visit the Box Office on game day to get your tickets.

Second, know that when you go to enter Comerica your bag will be searched and you'll have to walk through a metal detector. 

The bag policy for this year is that all backpacks, except for single-compartment drawstring bags that do not exceed MLB bag-size requirements of 16" x 16" by 8", are prohibited. Purses and diaper bags that look like backpacks will be allowed, as long as they aren't bigger than the size requirement.
