Minnesota officer's gift to a single father will make you cry

Buffalo, Minn. (KMSP) - A local police department is giving back to the community in an unusual, yet simple way. On Monday, the Buffalo Police Department gave Gerald Simmons a $100 bill.

The donation was part of a Secret Santa program called “Bounce Back.” The random acts of kindness are meant to give those less fortune a little extra cash over the holidays.

“I’m a single dad with two kids. I need a little help. I appreciate this so much, you wouldn’t believe it,” Simmons said. “It’s not easy and I won’t give up, ever.”

The Buffalo Police Department just started the “Bounce Back” program last week. So far they’ve given out nearly $1,500.
